Citywide Parks and Trails Master Plan, Baldwin City, Kansas Bartlett & West assisted the Baldwin City Recreation Commission in developing the master plan. Early in 2009 residents provided their input on the types of ammenities they would like to see in their community. Bartlett & West worked with the City to plan the future locations and designate several different types of parks. A phased trail system was also developed to include both off-street trails and multi-use recreational sidewalks. Bella Sera at the Preserve Luxury Residential Development Lawrence, Kansas The developers of Bella Sera wanted their residents to have an attractive and aesthetically pleasing living environment and Bartlett & West was called upon to bring this vision to life.  Through sensitive design and creative development, we were able to incorporate the natural land features, trees and ponds to create a harmonic balance between luxury living and Mother Nature. Prairie Spirit Trail-Phase III Welda to Iola, Kansas Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Walkers, joggers and bicyclists can now travel the entire length of the Prairie Spirit Trail—all 50 miles of it!  This project was the final 17-mile section of the trail system and includes ADA accessible hard-packed surfaces, three new trail heads complete with facilities and informational signage, and landscaped areas. Downtown Beautification Lawrence, Kansas Bartlett & West provided framework and guidance for current and future development and beautification enhancements in the downtown Lawrence area. The main goals were increased landscaping, amenities and overall ideas for aesthetics as well as investigate big-picture ideas for consideration. The final product included recommendations for increased landscaping and maintenance, and addressed specific City budget concerns and planning for the future.  Comprehensive Campus Facilities Master Plan Neosho County Community College Chanute, Kansas Due to current and expected growth, Bartlett & West and Places Architects in Wichita, Kansas, teamed to create a comprehensive campus facilities master plan to guide the college's future. During a two-day idea festival, the team worked with several groups including students, staff, alumni, and community members to assess their needs and create a master plan, with phasing options, to help keep the college moving forward with its current and future needs. Lindburg Street Plaza Pittsburg State University Pittsburg, Kansas Returning the street to the pedestrian in an aesthetic, functional design that was cost effective and a unique solution to the addition of Willard Plaza on the Pittsburg State University campus was the main goal for the design team of Bartlett & West and Bowman Bowman Novick. The design team provided various design alternatives to the university to bring the focus of campus back to the pedestrian. Implementing the goal of increased green space spurred the design of allowing the additional plaza to dissolve into the turf. Through creative pathway connections, lighting, hardscape paving patterns and site amenities such as raised planters and seating walls, the team created a unique plan for student gathering spaces.
