Heritage Bank – Topeka, Kansas
With the expansion of commercial development on Wanamaker
Corridor to the South of 29th Street, Heritage
Bank saw an opportunity to construct a new 35,000 square
foot, state-of-the-art, professional building. Architect One
designed this arts and crafts inspired facility with
Bartlett & West providing the structural engineering design
of a the new three-story steel framed banking and office
space which is structurally set on drilled pier foundations. |

Heartland Park – Topeka, Kansas
This multi-building project is the most expansive and most
expensive renovation since Heartland Park Topeka was
constructed and resulted in the completion of the original
vision of the facility. Working with Schwerdt Design Group,
Bartlett & West provided the mechanical, electrical and
plumbing design for the new 5,600 square foot maintenance
building which is a two-story steel framed structure on
spread footing foundations. |

Kansas High School Activities Association – Topeka, Kansas
The Kansas High School Activities Association worked with
Schwerdt Design Group and Bartlett & West, who provided
structural engineering services, to design this newly
constructed 24,000 square foot; two-story steel-framed
structure on spread footing foundations.
The building reflects the Kansas landscape in the natural
stone floor and provides space for the association’s
administrative offices, conferencing facilities, a high
school athletic wall of fame and archives room, a complete
print shop, media presentation room and space for records
storage. There is parking for 120 cars on this four-acre
site. |

Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Health Center – Mayetta,
Kansas
The project team for this 36,000 square foot facility
included the architect, Schwerdt Design Group, Bartlett &
West as the structural engineers, as well as a healthcare
design consultant. The three-wing design of the new Prairie
Band Health Center divides the varied functions of the
clinic including a primary care clinic, dental clinic, eye
clinic, radiography, and pharmacy. This unique design allows
the different services to function independently, yet remain
under one roof.
The
single-story building was constructed with varied structural
systems consisting of engineered wood, masonry bearing walls
and structural steel. The extensive use of natural materials
such as stone, wood, and stucco inside and out connect the
building to the prairie landscape. |

Lawrence Arts Center – Lawrence, Kansas
Downtown
Lawrence is home to this new 20,000 square foot arts center
facility which is owned by the City of Lawrence. Working
with GLPM Architects, Bartlett & West provided structural
engineering services for this three-story building which
houses an auditorium, arts-related spaces, galleries,
exhibit spaces, studios, teaching environments and even an
arts-based preschool.
The new arts center has a structural steel floor / roof
framing, masonry shear walls, and drilled pear foundations.
In addition, the facility’s design contains an exterior
barrel vaulted roof. |

Lexington Park Assisted Living – Topeka, Kansas
Offering
residents the ability to remain independent in their
retirement years, while providing the added comfort of many
support services was the inspiration behind the design of
the Lexington Park Assisted Living, Nursing and Post Acute
Care Facility. Bartlett & West’s structural work on the
36,000 square foot, two-story building included a framed
structure with a combination of wood and structural steel.
The facility is situated in a park-like setting adjacent to
two ponds where the location is serene and pleasant, yet
conveniently located to shopping, medical facilities and
banking. |
